Definitions

• Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
• Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
• Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.

• Email address

• Address, State, ZIP/Postal code, City

Location Data

We collect and process geographic location data — via address input or device location permissions — strictly to power our hyper-local community matching and service radius features.

This data enables us to show You relevant job postings, nearby Service Providers, and neighborhood activity within Your local area. Location data is not sold to third parties and is used solely to operate and improve the core functionality of the Application.

Communications Data

We collect, process, and store direct messages (DMs), public comments, and optional user phone numbers and email addresses to facilitate communication between marketplace participants.

Message content is stored securely and is accessible only to the sender and intended recipient. Public comments are visible to all users. We monitor communications solely for the purpose of enforcing our community guidelines and ensuring platform safety.

Email Communications

We use the email address associated with Your account to send necessary service-related communications. These include account communications, security communications, verification and sign-in messages, notifications about activity on Your account, and other communications required to operate the Service.

Separately, and where permitted by applicable law, We may send optional emails such as:

• My Yard updates and announcements
• New Yard Guides
• Weekly Leafs stories
• Community highlights
• Local yard information for Your area
• DIY solutions and other useful My Yard content
• Other optional promotional or re-engagement communications

We only send these optional emails to users whose account records an active preference to receive them. Having an account, or providing an email address, does not by itself opt You in to optional marketing or re-engagement emails.

You can opt out of optional marketing/re-engagement emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those emails, or by turning off "My Yard updates" in Your account email preferences (Settings → Alerts).

Opting out of optional marketing/re-engagement emails does not necessarily stop necessary transactional or service communications, which We may continue to send while You hold an account.

Third-Party Processors & Future Advertising

We partner with trusted infrastructure providers to deliver the Service. These include:

• Lovable Cloud / Supabase — for secure account authentication, database hosting, and data storage.
• Google Maps APIs — for location rendering, address autocomplete, and map visualization.
• Stripe — for secure payment processing. Financial data entered for Premium subscriptions is handled entirely by Stripe; My Yard does not store raw credit card numbers, CVV codes, or full bank account details on our servers.

We may display advertisements within the Application in the future. In such cases, third-party ad networks may use cookies or basic device identifiers to optimize and measure ad performance. Any future ad partnerships will be disclosed in an updated version of this Privacy Policy.

Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies

My Yard uses Google AdSense to display advertisements on certain pages. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on Your prior visits to this and other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to You based on Your visit to our Service and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
• You may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
• Our cookie consent banner lets You choose between personalized and non-personalized ads at any time; declining sets Google AdSense to serve non-personalized ads only.

Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA

If You are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, You have specific rights regarding Your Personal Data, including:

• Right to access — request a copy of the Personal Data We hold about You.
• Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure — request deletion of Your Personal Data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to restrict processing — request that We limit how We use Your data.
• Right to data portability — receive Your data in a portable format.
• Right to object — opt out of certain uses of Your data, including personalized advertising.
• California residents (CCPA) — right to know what personal information is collected, sold, or disclosed, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. My Yard does not sell Personal Data.

Retention of Your Personal Data

• User Accounts: retained for the duration of your account relationship plus up to 24 months after account closure.
• Customer Support Data & Chat Transcripts: up to 24 months from the date of ticket closure.
• Application usage statistics & Server logs: up to 24 months for security monitoring and troubleshooting.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You from within your account settings section. For privacy-specific requests or data deletion inquiries, please contact us at myyard.axis@gmail.com.
